S-Blend Stimulability Sheets

Standard

Do you have kids out there who find it difficult to add their ‘s’ sound to the start of their words to make S-Blends? I have made some free S-Blend worksheets that aim to target this very problem!

The worksheets break down the S-Blend in a

          “S+Word = S Blend” type equation.

I usually cover the S-Blend word on the right and ask my kids to join their ‘s’ or ‘snake’ sound with the picture. The aim is to join the S+Word together to make a new word! When the child says the S-Blend word, I reveal the picture to show them the new word that they made! My younger kids get quite excited at all the new words that they are making!

I might then ask them to repeat the new S-Blend word that they made, and if they forget to use their ‘s’ sound at the start, I have a visual to refer back to. I would say “Nail? This picture is a ssssssnail. Let’s go back and add our ‘s’ sound and try to say sssssnail again”.

    • Hi,
I have tried clicking the links from various computers and they work for me. Make sure you are opening the links entitled ‘Just add sk’ in the maroon font. If it doesn’t work, I can email them to you.
